Over the past year, my parents have been growing and tending, to an allotment by our house. This allotment has been growing a wide range of fruits and vegetables, like marrow, runner beans, tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, beetroot, potatoes, rhubarb, apples and Pumpkins! Just in time for Halloween! Now it has come time to harvest some of these beauties, prep and freeze some which, we can’t utilize yet. Now many of our friends eat fresh vegetables and as we have a copious amount that a family of four could not eat all by ourselves, we have been gifting them with a selection! Now, my dear friends Christopher and Hannah prepare some of the most amazing food.
I thought why not give them some of the good stuff we have been growing? Which they loved! They used these to cook a gorgeous prawn dish with rice noodles. The few days that followed, Christopher kept me updated on the dishes that Hannah & he were eating…
Yummy! The pan of gorgeousness (bottom right) is prawns with rice noodles, courgettes, tomatoes! I am truly thankful to know such wonderful people with excellent palettes and a love for fresh foods!
Does anyone have recipes for any of the vegetables and fruit I have listed? Always on the hunt for something new!
So the world is my oyster..Where to next? I have been endlessly looking on various sites for cheap flights and accommodation.
I found one good site called:
This site takes a plethora of airlines & hotels/hostels and spits out all of the flights for those dates, just like any other online booking, right? Well, no. This site is targeted at students and people aged around 18-24. With special discount for those who are students and faculty members! With real reviews from young people and their experiences. This is great for me as I am not looking for tailor-made journeys travelling in First Class.
An even better site called:
Very similar to Student Universe but this is again, cheaper! Also with hotels, flights & car hire available, to book in one place. This site does not have relative reviews from young people, which makes me favour Student Universe
I will use Student Universe & Skyscanner together to find the cheapest and best-rated accommodation. As I am travelling alone, I need to find a place that is safe and accessible to places like the metro.
If anyone has any accommodation tips or websites, let me know!
After a morning of drowsiness, I decided to drag myself out of the house & do something “productive”. I knew this would involve food of some sort. I really think that my day revolves around what I am going to eat, I don’t know anyone else that thinks about food as much as I do!
I went to a few charity shops, purchased a few holiday clothes- I’m going to Lanzarote in two weeks with my sister & our friend Elliott. So I thought I better had to go and buy some clothes!
After pottering around various charity shops, I always leave the best till last. The Animal Sanctuary down Corn Street. I picked up a whole wardrobe for my holiday for only £11! I decided to go to one of my favourite places to eat..The Como Lounge on Market Square.
Now I’m not one for having an English Fry-up made for me but this place does it just right.
The staff here are so friendly & welcoming & don’t mind if you customise your order. See I’m not one for tomatoes & they happily swapped these for extra mushrooms…yum!
This has to be a luxury for me..sitting on the second floor and watching the people of Witney stroll around.
Green Pesto Pasta Salad! Try saying that in a hurry! This is so easy if you have leftover pasta & great to take for lunch. Takes around 15 minutes to make.
All you need:
- One can of Tuna (in water)
- 1/2 Red Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 Tbsp of Green pesto
- Three Sun-dried Tomatoes
- 100g of Fusilli Pasta
- A few Cherry Tomatoes
- One Tsp of Olive Oil
Cook the pasta & leave to cool, (skip this step if you are using leftovers).
Combine the onion, sun-dried tomatoes, tuna & cherry tomatoes in a bowl.
Add the pasta and stir well!
Finally, drizzle with olive oil.
Hope you enjoy!
I love making this one when I’m not feeling like a big breakfast.
It’s super easy & tastes delicious!
For 2 servings:
- One Fresh Banana
- ½ Cup of Fresh Cranberry Juice
- ½ Cup of Pineapple Juice
- 1 Cup of Frozen Forest Fruits
Cut the banana into chunks & then add all of the ingredients to blender, blend until smooth.
Using frozen fruits makes your smoothie an instant chilled drink, perfect for waking you up in the morning!
Hope you enjoy!
My very first post on my blog, wow! Creating something like this within twenty-four hours is astonishing to me- I have proved that I am not a master procrastinator. I would like to explain a little bit on what my plans are here, well actually I don’t have a plan! Flying by the seat of my pants if I’m honest with you.
Last night I asked myself three questions:
- What would I do if I had no possibility of failing?
Be an artist of some sort.
- What would I read 500 books about and not be bored?
Food/ Cook Books
- What would I do for five years without being paid?
Travel around the world
So I sat there & thought “WOW” this is what I should be doing with my life: Art, Travel & Food.
Like this blog states…this is a journey & I have no idea where it is going to take me!
Will join me on my travels?
